Exoskeleton (On-going Project)

…If Tony Stark can do it, why can’t I? Ok… So I’m not expecting to fly… and I don’t have a forge or CNC so I’m not going to have supper strength… But, I do have a 3D printer, know how to etch a board, and can design(that’s a generous word for my trial an error approach) with AutoCAD. It’s with that in mind that I’ve decided to set forth and design an exoskeleton that can be 3D printed and put together here at home.

Currently, I’m trying to decide how I should drive the elbow motion… I’m between a linear actuator or a Nema motor. I’d like to use a hub motor but… $$$.

As it currently is, I am using a Raspberry Pi and an Arduino Mega and a motor controller to run the exoskeleton. I plan on using a pressure sensor as my user interface to signal when the motor should activate, though admittedly EMG would be preferable.

…To Be Continued…
